Pathway to Master of New Media Arts (ANU)
The Diploma of New Media provides technical skills and theoretical knowledge required to analyse, design, develop, and publish multimedia with a focus on documentary, dramatic and interactive screen media.
The Diploma is suited to those wishing to develop or extend their skills and interests in the area of New Media. In particular this program is suited to those seeking to gain entry into the Master of New Media Arts program at the Australian National University, and who currently work in education or pre-publication roles, especially in the areas of technology, web development, on-line services, and multimedia development.
The Diploma is delivered in 2 semesters (12 month equivalent). Delivery is in a series of intensive sessions usually of 2 days’ duration twice per month for the duration of the program. In addition to this students are expected to match this effort at least hour for hour with their projects, assignments and reading/preparation.
Program delivery is via a clustering of these units into the program delivery areas of:
A. Digital, Video and Sound
B. Animation
C. Multimedia Development
D. Writing, Technology and Art – History, Theory, Practice
E. Project Management (Installation Project)
